Our commitment
High Peak Studio is committed to making our website usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Conformance status
This site is designed to conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. It is reviewed against that standard on an ongoing basis; the last full audit was completed on June 2, 2026.
What we have done
- Keyboard navigation: every interactive element — including the primary navigation, mega menus, mobile menu, editor toolbar, and admin controls — can be reached and operated with a keyboard.
- Focus management: visible focus rings on all controls, a "Skip to main content" link as the first focusable element of every page, and disclosure menus that return focus to their trigger on close.
- Screen reader support: semantic landmarks (a single
<main>, header, footer), correct heading order, ARIA labels on icon-only buttons, and live regions for form status and error messages. - Color and contrast: body text and interactive elements use design system tokens that meet or exceed the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 in both light and dark themes.
- Responsive design: layouts adapt from 320px upward, with tap targets sized for touch and viewport-aware sizing (
dvh) so content is never hidden under mobile browser chrome. - Forms: labels are programmatically associated with inputs, required fields are marked, and validation errors are announced to assistive technology.
- Media: content images include descriptive alt text; purely decorative images use empty alt attributes so screen readers skip them.
- External links: links that open in a new tab are marked with
rel="noopener noreferrer"and an "opens in new tab" affordance for screen reader users.
Standards we follow
We design and build against WCAG 2.1 AA, use shadcn/ui and Radix UI primitives that ship with correct ARIA semantics out of the box, and test new features with keyboard navigation and screen readers before release.
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Third-party embeds (analytics, video, payment) may not always meet our standards, and content authored by community contributors is reviewed but may contain temporary gaps. We actively work to identify and resolve these.
